I'm not saying people can't change their minds when it comes to whether or not they keep their stores open. What I'm saying is that if you don't want to leave a bitter taste in people's mouth then don't send out notice after notice about how you are closing and having a fantastic closing sale and getting people in a frenzy about purchasing things they may not have the chance to purchase again, only to turn around and keep your damn store open. It makes people feel duped. It makes your customer base not trust you and I think in the long run does more harm and good. I know with all the recent "hey we're closing..come buy mah shit" sales I haven't touched a one of them. Why? Because I don't believe you. I think you are lying to me and you just want a boost in sales. Which is your prerogative but don't expect me to ever come back. Okay, I feel better.

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty pissed that I go to a store, for their closing sale, for a week later the items to then be discounted further on the last day, then the store still being open (albeit at a different location). Pretty annoying.
